Department of B.Sc. (Information Technology)

Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) program is a three year undergraduate degree course with each year divided into two semesters. This degree is primarily focused on subjects such as Mathematics, Electronics, Software, Databases, Networking etc. The degree is a Bachelor of Science degree with institutions conferring degrees in the fields of information technology and related fields. This degree is awarded for completing a program of study in the field of software development, software testing, software engineering, web design, databases, programming, computer networking and computer systems.

Graduates with an information technology background are able to perform technology tasks relating to the processing, storing, and communication of information between computers, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. Information technology as a field emphasizes the secure management of large amounts of variable information and its accessibility via a wide variety of systems both local and worldwide.

The course is designed keeping in mind the need of the industry and the need to manage bulk data that is produced in organization on a daily basis.

B.Sc IT graduates become professionals who have analytical and logical thinking abilities to solve real-time problems in the IT field. They have the knowledge to identify problems in the IT and infrastructure, analyze them and also find solutions for the same.

  • Orientation: It is conducted to make the students and parents aware about the program.
  • Parent Teacher Meetings: In a year two PTA meetings are conducted.
  • Bridge course on the specific topic We conduct bridge courses at the beginning of the year  to benefit the slow learners. It aims at leveraging students’ learning skills.
  • Workshops and Guest lectures: Various guest lectures are conducted by the industry experts and academic scholars all round the year.
  • E-waste collection Drive : Encourage our students to collect and deposit EWaste for recycling purposes.
  • E-magazine & Blog : An yearly online magazine is published by the students of B.Sc.I.T. department. The magazine aims to tap the creativity of our students – budding I.T. Professionals. It aims to cultivate research skills in the computer world. All editorial work is done by our B.Sc.I.T. students.
  • Project Exhibition : Exhibition of I. T. based projects to showcase students’ talent.
  • Alumni Meet : Meeting organized for passout students for interaction to know their current employment and educational status.

With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit offers students a practical perspective on the world of work. Industrial visits are organized by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunities in different sectors like IT, Manufacturing and services, finance and marketing. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.

Objectives: –
