Vedanta is located on the fourth floor of the College building. The Library serves the students and staff members of the college. The main attraction of the college Library is Open Access to students and staff members. Students can directly browse the stacks and pick up the desired books. Internet browsing area is also provided for students. Library collection of books is expended every year by adding new books to the Library. The Library has 30,000 books, 37 Periodicals and also subscribes to 13 Newspapers in different languages.
N List Subscription
College Library has subscribed to inflibnet’s N-List programme. Under this Programme students and Staff Members can access more than 3000 Electronic Journals and more than 90000Electronic books. Students and teaching faculty also have a remote login facility to access and download articles.
Current Reading Facility
This facility is available to all the students on College Identity Card. Textbooks, Reference Books & Question Papers are given for reference in the Library only.
Home Reading
This facility is available to all students on Library Card. One text book and one reference book can be taken for Home Reading for seven days.
Book-Bank Facility
The College Library provides Book-Bank Facility for Economically weak students. This year 30 students benefitted from the Book-Bank scheme.
Internet Browsing Facility
Seven Computers are available in the Library for Internet Browsing. Students can make use of these computers.
Online Library Services
In an attempt to make information available to our users during corona pandemic college Library made use of google classroom. Google classroom is used extensively to provide information about new arrived periodicals in the Library. All the readers were given option to get scanned full text article by sending an e-mail to Library. All the users were acquainted with National Digital Library of India. Links were sent on google classroom to register for the NDLI. To make available to learners’ community learning resources through a single window, National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has sponsored National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Project. Swayam is a programme initiated by Government of India. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching learning resources to all. Links were shared on google classroom to join various courses.
Library Committee
Library Committee is formed of faculty members from Degree College. Self finance courses and student’s representation. Library committee checks, recommends and approves materials to be acquired in the Library.
In the year 2020-21 Library committee meeting was held on 10th June 2021, in Principal’s chamber. Students and Staff members actively participated in the discussion.
